One of my earliest memories is 5 year old me sitting on my bed staring at my floor. My room was so messy that you could barely see it. Every toy, doll, game, thing, you name it was on the playing field. Numerous attempts to get me to clean up were met with whines and tantrums. It couldn't possibly be done, it was just that messy. On the final attempt, my dad came up to my room and gave me a choice: Clean the room or get a spanking. Dumbfounded, he went downstairs. My mom looked at him and asked why he had such a confused look on his face. "She chose the spanking! What do I do?!" Mom replied, "Well, you spank her." So, I got the spanking, but ultimately I had to clean my room. I really lost out on that deal. I think my dad did too.
